In May–June 2022, EconSES welcomed Prof. John Lynham (University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa) as a WIMEK Research Fellow for a three-week research visit. During his stay, Prof. Lynham advanced ongoing collaborations with EconSES on environmental and resource economics, including research on socio-ecological systems, protected areas, and fisheries, while also exploring new opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration. He shared his expertise through masterclasses for PhD students, including a public lecture titled “Pirates, Prices, & Photos: Three Papers on Fisheries in Indonesia”, and engaged with students and researchers in discussions on causal inference methods and fisheries economics.
