I am a PhD candidate in the Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Group, Section Economics, at Wageningen University and Research. I am supervised by Francisco Alpizar, Anna Lou Abatayo and Chen Weishan . My research focuses on the source separation of municipal solid waste. In light of the limited effectiveness of waste sorting in China, where citizen behavior tends to relapse significantly in the absence of strict manual supervision, my work investigates the underlying behavioral mechanisms of waste sorting. It aims to identify effective behavioral interventions to enhance the performance of urban waste segregation in practice, thereby contributing to improved community living environments and the advancement of the urban circular economy from both academic and practical perspectives.
